It's election day and the weather couldn't beore perfect!! After
voting, Sean and I went to the park for playtime and a picnic.

Our Trip to the Farm

Bryan, Sean, and I spent the day at Cagel's Dairy Farm, about 45 minutes north of Atlanta. We all had a good time. We started our farm tour off by feeding the baby cows. Sean loved it!!

Everyone was given leaves as they entered the barn, and there were several calves just waiting to be fed. I showed Sean how to hold the leaves out for the calf, and he caught on very quickly, sticking his hand with food through the fence for the little cow to eat. He had a huge smile on his face the whole time!

After feeding the cows, Sean washed his hands.

Next up was a tour of the milking barn, and the milk processing facility. After the tour, Sean got to pick out his very own baby pumpkin.

Next up was a hayride around the farm, where one of the cows got up close and personal.

After the tour, we went to the pumpkin patch, though Sean was a little unsure of himself after falling and hitting his lip on a pumpkin stem.

Before heading home, we gave Sean a chance to ride around on a little tractor in the kiddie play area.

Sean seemed to enjoy the farm and the animals, and we had a great time on a beautiful day.

Baby steps

Sean finally took his first steps!! He was trying to get to a Teddy
bear I was holding out for him. He took a couple of wobbly steps
before deciding that crawling would be faster and easier. I'm so
proud of him! And also looking forward to seeing where these steps
take him in the future!!

An apple a day

Sean is enjoying is first "big boy apple". The apples we got from our
CSA last week were really soft and mealy, so he can handle the texture
without the risk of choking. He seems to really like it.

Sean's First Birthday

On Monday Sean turned one, and on Saturday we celebrated with friends and family. Grandpa John and Uncle Jeff made it down for the party, and of course Grandma Connors, Grandpa Boyd and Dianna, and Uncle John were there too. Sean had a great time playing with all of his friends, and was super excited about all the balloons mom got for him. And seeing him enjoy his first cake was priceless. Since pictures are worth 1,000 words, here is a photo essay of his first birthday:

Sorry it's been so long since our last post. It's amazing how time just runs away from you. Sean has continued to grow and change and learn new things. Some of these are things he is just learning how to do, and some he's known how to do for quite a while. So, here are some things Sean has learned:

Well, it's official -- Sean is crawling.

It's hard to say when he started crawling, as it's been a gradual process for him. A few months ago, he was getting around by rolling around the room. At some point, he started experimenting with an "army crawl." Then, he'd get up on his hands and knees and rock back and forth a bit. A few weeks ago, he'd take one crawling "step" but then go back on his tummy and army crawl some more. Soon, that one step became two, which became four until suddenly, he was crawling everywhere.

Now, he's unstoppable. "Constant Motion" is how my aunt described him. "All over the place" is how I usually describe him. He's taking advantage of his new-found mobility to get into whatever he can. Looks like we got the baby gates up just in time!!
